A one-year-old child was brought to Yatharth Hospital, Jhansi Orchha with complaints of vomiting as well as fever and diarrhea for the last 12 days. This was a case of emergency as the child was brought in very ill and in a dehydrated state. The child was taken to many centers before coming to Yatharth Hospital. The team of Paediatricians at Yatharth Hospital, conducted a thorough examination of the child. The examination revealed that the child was suffering from persistent diarrhea as well as lactose intolerance. As the child did not respond to antibiotics, a fungal infection was suspected and treatment was started accordingly. The child showed improvement within 72 hours. He was discharged from the hospital in stable condition within 5 days. During follow-up in OPD, the child's condition was stable and he also gained weight.
