Dr Prerana’s clinical expertise is in Fetal Medicine which includes Prenatal counselling, Prenatal Diagnosis, First Trimester Screening, Screening for preeclampsia, IUGR and Preterm deliveries ,Fetal echocardiography ,Fetal neurosonograms, Anomaly scans , Fetal Dopplers , Growth scans , Multi-fetal pregnancy scans ,Pelvis Scans , Invasive procedures like CVS and amniocentesis , fetal reduction, , Fetal blood sampling, Fetal blood transfusion, Amniodrainage, Fetal shunting procedures, etc . She is also expert in complex fetal procedures like fetoscopic laser coagulation, cord occlusion, interstitial laser coagulation, bipolar coagulation, radiofrequency ablation, vesico-amniotic shunting, PUV fulguration, sclerosant injection. She has also worked in perinatal pathology department and done fetal autopsies. Her special interest is in the management of Twin pregnancies and its complications and first trimester detection of anomalies.

Fellowships and certifications: Dr Prerana has done three years fellowship in fetal medicine from Mediscans, Chennai which is a leading center in the field of fetal scans ,therapy,genetics and perinatology . It receives referrals from all parts of world. This fellowship was under Professor S Suresh who is renowned Fetal Medicine specialist all over the world. The fellowship also involved lectures and hands on training of  Obstetrician /gynecologists, Radiologists  pursuing fellowship in basic and advanced obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound in Mediscan.
