“Attributing to the subsequent discrimination and ‘so-called’ low status of women in our country is one of the major factors directly linked with the poor health outcomes among women. India accounts for 20% of global maternal deaths with 56000 casualties annually, which is a serious matter of concern. Latest data also suggest that Post Partum Hemorrhage (PPH) contributes to around 22% of the maternal mortality rate in India. Other health complications among women include gynecological cancer, infertility, cardiovascular ailments, osteoporosis among post menopausal women irregular menses among many others.” said Dr Manju Tyagi, Director, Yatharth Super Specialty Hospitals.
While Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality among patients suffering from any form of cancer worldwide. According to the recent data given by Globacan 2018, breast cancer among Indian women is the highest worldwide. There is an increase in the trend of new cancer patients, and the age group of new patients coming annually have gradually dropped from <55 years to under 40 years of age. As per the data recorded in ICMR 2018, over 1.5 lakh new breast cancer patients have been recorded in India last year.
Cardiovascular ailments, especially among post menopausal women are another health concern that can prevent and curb down the mortality rate. While most of the Indian population is still unaware about the initial symptoms of any disease, such public awareness events are a motivation for women to maintain their overall well being.
This is yet another step taken by the hospital for the welfare of Women. While seeking women as major contributors to the society, their health poses a major area of concern for the nation. Women safety is one of the important aspects that needs to be discussed at priority. Seeking the well being of women, Yatharth Super Specialty hospital has always worked toward the welfare of women health through various interactive sessions, seminars, mass awareness programs and is always inclined for the same.
